Hi Ho, Hi ho, it's off to set up I go....

I have hummed that tune all week as I slaved away in my classroom.  I am amazed at how many "off the clock" hours I put in just to get my classroom feeling cozy.  This year I didn't think it would be so bad.  I mean I had the foresight to put up the big bulletin boards at the end of the school year so that I wouldn't have to deal with it during the set up. Even though I was changing my theme this year I knew exactly where everything would go and then...I started purging.  Oh did it feel good?!?  Years and not so many years just tossed out.  It took years off of my life I believe. If only it could have taken back some of the gray.  Now I just have to focus on all the other little things that need to be done and the welcome back to all the meetings one can have before meet and greet...the fun just never ends.


I forgot to take pictures of the finished product so as soon as I do I will post the before and after shots.


All in all I think I put in well over 30 hours or more putting it all back together.  How many hours on average do you feel it takes you to put your classroom back in order?

Second Chances

When I created this blog almost 3 years ago I had delusional big dreams and big plans. I wanted to venture out into this new and exciting world.  Reaching out to other great educators who had just as many wacky creative sides to them as I did.


Unfortunately, or fortunately (depending on how you view the world) I was a new mom and transitioning to a new grade.  I bit off  tackled more than I could handle.  But alas! I'm back now! And giving this a Second Chance! So bear with me as I get a little more technological.

I'm officially a BLOGGER!!

Hello fellow bloggers! I have been a quiet observer since I discovered my 1st blog over the summer. I am not quite sure how I didn't find this wonderful world before now but I am very thankful for Christina Bainbridge's website which guided me to her blog.  And VOILA!!!! Here I am 4 months later trying it out on my own.  I'm not sure how often I will be here since I'm a Mom on maternity leave with a 2 month old.  Love all the ideas from the other bloggers out there and love the fact that soon I will be able to comment and share on my own as well!! Yippppeeeeeee! Oh it's the little things in life these days!
